McDonald's AA players...

were on display last nite on ESPNU, showing their stuff in the 3pt shooting contest and dunk contest at Chicago St.
The game is on Wednesday nite at the United Center.

Impressions:

Duke and UNC continue to rake in the creme a la creme.
Duke has a top pg coming in,whether Irving goes pro or not...Quinn Cook. He as pretty good from the arc.
The last Plumlee brother,Marshall, is a carbon copy of Mason, the younger, better brother. Very high flyer in the dunk contest, solid looking body also...said to be the best scorer of the three. Jay Williams was saying that Duke might be starting a frontline of the three Plumlees next year and that would be the biggest frontline in duke history...all are 6'11''.

Topping off Duke's class is #1 rated Austin Rivers. I saw him play last year and he struck me as thin, weak, and not really that athletic. He has matured, and looked much stronger, filled out,and was explosive in the dunk contest. I know he can shoot also. Gonna be a star,no doubt.

UNC has the winner of the 3pt shooting contest coming..a 6'10'' kid from Oregon,Wilhite, whose dad played in the NBA for 9 years. Kind of a Christian Laettner look-alike. Lites out shooter, with good athleticism.
Also,UNC has a 6'6'' Harrison Barnes replacement coming,looked like Vince Carter,named Harrison.

The third Zeller is going to IU...he looks more like Tyler than Luke..and that is a positive, imo.

Ky is the only FF participant with recruits in the game this year...they have several.

I get a bit depressed watching these kids...they are so athletic, and strong looking, it seems like a Devyn Marble is a few years away from being comparable.

OSU's got a pair in the game...Shannon Scott,I believe is Charlie Scotts kid,a quick guard from Georgia, and Amir Johnson looked strong at 6'10''.
MSU had a small forward out of Gary,Indiana..Braden,who looked very athletic and big.
Fortunately, that is it for the Big Ten...we do not need anymore Sullys to have to beat.

I am genuinely surprised every year how many great high school basketball players are working at McDonald's.

It just goes to show how hard it is to make it in the NBA. Very few guys make a living playing basketball on the streets like Billy Hoyle and Sidney Deane...
