So says his facebook status, hopefully he'll be back for michigan game. Him and coker as the one-two punch will be huge and fun to watch.

Springing him on Michigan would be nice and Kirk should not talk about it at all and people should understand why. It's competitive advantage stuff.

Were I Kirk I would not talk about the status of injured players at all.

Well, are you Kirk? He doesn't really talk about anything at all.

I know I am going to get slammed for this, but I'm not going to put a whole lot of stock into McCall until I see more. He looked good in his 9 rushes against Tennessee Tech, but it was Tennessee Tech. I want to see him in B1G play and in a big time atmosphere. I do love the fact that we have 2 young running backs that we can throw at B1G defenses no matter who is out there with Coker. Canzeri, Johnson or McCall.

You definitely have a point, but to say McCall was looking better than Coker in that game would be akin to saying that Jessica Alba looks better than Danny Devito.

i think we'll need all the horses we can get when we get to the last 3 games on the schedule. very little margin for error this year, and we'll need someone to spell Coker eventually. i don't care who that is, just need to give the big guy a rest once-in-awhile.

When there was early speculation on whether or not you'd play McCall in November if he could come back, the caveat was that if Iowa is in contention for the Legends Division title, you play him.

Iowa should win these next two games without McCall. They should also put him through the paces and see if he can be at 100%...if he can play at that level by the Michigan game which is in 16 days, I think you play him.

exactly! let's not let the cat out of the bag! true freshman tore it up v. Tenn Tech for 6 plays!! shhhh....... Michigan will not know what hit 'em. iowa's offense will drastically change by playing one RB instead of another.......

true insight.

Jon, it does not matter if we are in contention or not. If he is fit, he needs to play. The NCAA will screw us and deny the waiver.

Im in this camp. I agree that Coker needs a number two - but whats wrong with the much-hyped Canzeri? Why burn two red shirts? Let Mc Squared get a full year of additional eligibilty. We have had promising runs from other young backs...

Like McCall, Canzeri flashed in a brief exposure. But give me McCall as the #2 because he is a true #2. He is a split reps guy. Canzeri is not that.

I am also curious about the NCAA rules on the waiver. I can't believe they would allow him to willingly sit even if healthy and get the RS.
