Has anyone been able to figure out why he got the head coaching position at the D1 level at such a young age, and then he went to a major D1 program and evidently played an integral role, but he was in these smaller head jobs after that, relatively speaking, until now?
If a guy was a head coach at the D1 level at 26, you would kind of think he was on the fast track to a big-time job like the guy Lute mentored that is now at Memphis. Can anyone help me understand how that played out?
I haven't really seen it addressed, but if family is so important to him and he met his wife at ND, maybe her being a coach there played into that lengthy stay when he had originally thought it might be a two or three year gig?
Thanks in advance.
