He did the same thing last night at the Des Moines County I Club. It was great. You can tell he has been moved by the support. I thought it interesting when he said next year team will be Whites team and how much he went on about the two Freshmen coming in. Also loved the two young coaches They were refreshing. Brands is a pretty intense dude

Care to elaborate about his comments on the 2 freshmen?
 


He talked most about Ulis, said he was 6-9 and thought Hawk would love him. I thought it sounded like he felt the kid would contribute coming in. But he didn't say that in so many words. But he really hyped him

I assume you mean Uhl? Fran's hype machine never rests...I like it, but we all have seen how Jok was not ready, after being similarly hyped. I will wait until the league season until I make a call on Uhl....Jok disappeared in Jan and Feb, due to lack of defensive prowess. I suspect the same could happen with Dom.
 


Your right sorry about spelling. Your also right about Jok, I will be pretty happy if the kid looks as good as FR as Jok did. I tend not to expect much of True FR. Kinda like KF way of down playing expectations. But let Fran be Fran

You know JH, I wasn't unhappy with anything PJ did last season or how Fran handled him. I think Fran hyped him up (freshmen ego stroking) before the season as he knew he'd play PJ as much as possible in the non con. After PJ's injuries, I just don't think he had the stamina and endurance, right away. As for disappearing in Jan/Feb, where would you have played PJ? Not in front of RDM, not at PG, and not at the 3. He got his legs, in non con, got to see the speed of the game and then watched during the B1G season. In fact, I believe he started seeing minutes in the last half of the B1G. I think Fran and PJ both did well with his PT and performance. I think PJ will be ready next season and the hype won't be hype anymore. That's all just my opinion.

I agree that Fran handled PJ fine last season. And I was not that disappointed in PJ's performance, which was not atypical for unranked frosh recruits. That is why I look for similar results for Uhl....usually unranked recruits do not have a big impact, unless the program lacks depth, like when Aaron White was a frosh. Iowa returns 8 of their top 11 for next year, so the frosh would have to be highly talented to get on the floor in league play.

Really, just watch their next game and you will. Just because I think they are turds on the sideline, it doesn't make them bad people. Hate the coach, not the man.
