Maybe Bluder needs to be shown the door with Fran!

Iowa women lose again to Ames High by three points. When was the last time a Bluder coached team won vs Ames High? Don't give me this..."Well, Bluder takes Iowa to the NCAA Tournament every year. Yeah, and they almost always lose in the first round every year.

They won last year 76-67. I don't think you follow the Lady Hawks to close do you. This years class and the one coming in next year will take them along ways. I was kind of surprised they lost but I didn't get to see or listen to it so I don't really know what happened. They will be hitting their stride after conference play starts. Lost a lot of experience and it's going to take time to fill the holes. Go Hawks!

You sound like a Cubs fan, there's always next year:eek: and I meant when was the last time a Bluder team won in Ames? Mediocre b-ball program.

Well then I guess your just going to need to be grumpy for awhile. I would guess that 17-18 they will get it done! How's that? Make you feel better. I really do think the Hawks are heading in the right direction and will keep building. There getting really good recruits and I'm very optimistic for their future. :)

Dumbest post of the day

Agreed completely dumb and pretty clear he hasn't got a clue about the state of Iowa Women's Basketball. **** Fran could lose every damn year at ISU if he had her resume!!! In fact if Fran did have Bluder's resume this decade he wouldn't be taking the beating he has. Bluder has 8 straight appearances to the Dance and is coming off a Sweet Sixteen appearance. Iowa Women's has talent for days in these last 2 classes and our those 2 classes are highly ranked.

And if anybody remembers the sad state the men's program was in before Fran, they wouldn't suggest he's not doing a great job, even in jest. I remember the Lickliter time all too well.

I was grumpy last night. Back to back losses to Ames in hoops didn't sit well with me. Like the men, the IA women had a lead over Ames and blew it. Very frustrating.

This is exactly why you should avoid posing immediately after a game (win or lose). You're too filled up with emotion. Let it settle in for a few and then gather your rational thoughts.

Just my 2¢

Bluder's fine. Women's basketball is a non-revenue sport, and while losing to ISU is never okay, she's got the tourney wins to back it up. The expectations should not be the same.

Here is the thing. In women's college hoops, wins and losses only matter at about half a dozen programs. At the rest, be nice to the AD, don't make waves and avoid any type of scandals and you are good to go.

There are only about 6 teams that get all the McDonalds All American kids. So yes the rest really have to battle hard. As far as the Hawks losing here is what may have led to the loss.
Rebounding: Iowa was out rebounded 13-12 on the o boards and 28-13 on the defensive side
Iowa was very cold from the 3 point only making 4-14 Ia, St. not much better at 5-16
Fouls Ia. St. committed 17 while Iowa was called for 24
