Matt Kemp's Rarefied Air

Kemp was oh-so-close to the Triple Crown last year, and has been off to a hot start this year. He hit his tenth home run last night. He became the third center-fielder to ever hit 10 HRs in his team's first 19 games. The other two were named Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays. Kemp currently leads the NL in every hitting category except at-bats. I doubt he can stay so hot, but he is quickly becoming the best hitter in baseball.

I'm afraid pitchers are going to start pitching around him and giving him a lot of intentional passes. The Dodgers don't have that much else other than Ethier.

Kemp just hit a walkoff HR to beat the Nats 4-3.

He should have won the MVP last season, but the writers went with Mr. PED, Ryan Braun.

Hate the Dodgers, and all the drama surrounding the McCourts last year was a big black eye to MLB. Ryan Braun, of course, played for the feel good story Brewers and their beast mode. It probably doesn't hurt that the Brewers were partially owned by Selig before he had to transfer it to his daughter. But all of that shouldn't matter a damn bit when it comes to the individual player that gets the MVP award. Kemp earned that award last year and should have received it.

Braun is a cheater. Pisses me off (as a Dodgers fan) that Kemp got passed over. He's 10x the player Braun is.
