Marshall, Gregory, Stallings and Hewitt turned down Barta?

I posted an article in another thread because I felt it was the first true piece of evidence of any lead so far. So please take this next comment with a grain of salt...but my friend whom works in the Iowa sports information office through some ease dropping heard that Gregg Marshall, Brian Gregory, Kevin Stallings and Paul Hewitt all turned down Barta for interviews (aren't interested). This may be why we have heard Marshall and Gregory names lately. If this is true then I think we need to take a step back and realize how brutal this job is to the coaching fraternity. It pains me but understand. However, I think some fail to realize this program is being left decent building blocks - players, talent, sleeping giant in the fanbase and practice facility.

Actually this information has been confirmed per Todd Brommelkamp via Twitter:

Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings, in the running 3 years ago, is also out of the running at this point. He's not interested - again.

According to our sources you can cross Wichita State's Gregg Marshall off the list. Search firm reached out, he declined to interview.

OUCH!!!

Way to take info from the Lounge on Hawkeye Report immediately after posted by TK and run over here and post it under the premise of "my friend whom works in the blah blah blah...".
Tool!

If Marshall really did say thanks but no thanks to an interview, its really depressing

Dude, take it easy!! I DID get this info from my friend this afternoon via text but wasn't sure if true. Then 10 minutes after I posted this, Brommelkamp posted Stallings and Marshall confirmation via Twitter which I'm VERY active with. EASY!! BTW, I don't visit HR.

If we have a search committee to help keep things quiet, why do we hear about the coaches that have turned us down?

Also, aren't they the middle man for candidates who have expressed interest in the position, but do not want it to go public.

If you know who said no, who are the potential candidates that are interested in saying yes?

Sure u did. You got the info this afternoon but just held onto it until minutes after the info on hawkeyereport was put up.
And I could give a crap if you visit HR or not.

Oh...BTW I don't follow twitter.

As in depth as the vetting has been I really doubt Drew is a realistic possibility. Ive heard nothing about Jake.

I don't visit HR so I had no idea that was on there. Sorry you are so offended. Why is this a big deal? Relax, we are all Iowa fans on here. You look like a newcomer so I my fellow HN posters can attest to my validity. I can post the text if you'd like! GEEZ!

Just FYI, when he posted this on Twitter I made sure he was credited for this info as he should when I shared with fellow followers.
