Magic to Sign Marble

That's great news for RDM. I thought his game was much more suited for the NBA than college because college is more structured. NBA allows for a guy to use his athleticism vs a structured approached, at times. RDM seems to have better rhythm when games are more free flowing. I think he has a good shot to stick and be a 10 year role player on a good team or starter on a non contender.

Very cool. He went from a mildly recruited kid out of high school who looked too skinny and overwhelmed his freshman year to the 5th leading scorer at Iowa and making a team in the NBA. Kid worked hard...Well deserved.

Devyn has always reminded me of Jake Kelley with his style of play. One never knew what he was going to do with the ball, very creative. I am not saying that Jake was NBA material, but he was the best player on the team late in his last season with the Hawks.....

Good for Dev, always good to see Hawks in the NBA, might be happening more often as time goes on under Fran's command.....

Not a stupid question. As a 2nd round pick, nothing is guaranteed. If he does not make the team, no contract.

I think it depends on the structure of the contract. They could to sign him to an non guaranteed contract, in which case was you said he gets paid until he gets cut. But they could also sign him to a partially guaranteed or fully guaranteed contract in the even they see enough promise, although fully guaranteed is unlikely.

My guess Marble gets a partially guaranteed contract, but spends a fair amount of time in D-League this season.

Marble had an AND1 on a 3 pointer, and was moved into a starting role for today's nba summer league championship game. Had 18 points

Nice!....I am probably wrong on the whole non-guaranteed contract for 2nd rounders...he might get a guaranteed deal as indicated above....good for him! I love how they made a point of mentioning his great character...that should count for something, and it does more and more at the pro level for all sports...big investment in outlaws is a bad investment often. Dev was an exemplary student-athlete at Iowa, and that is going to help him make a case for pro bb. He has earned some NBA cash...save it, Dev!
