This kid flip flopped big time between FSU and ND. He wanted to go to FSU and his mom wanted him at ND. If I'm not mistaken his grandpas ashes are scattered at the ND stadium.

His issue involved parents, not his attitude. He had made it pretty clear he wanted to go to FSU. His mom wanted otherwise.

It's typically not that simple, especially if a parent is overbearing. Not only did his mom want him to go to ND, but his grandfather's ashes were spread on the field there. It's not hard to understand why he struggled with the decision so much. He was getting pulled in a different direction by people whose opinions I reckon he puts a lot of stock in.
