Great photo... could take all night to ID all the people in this pic. But you can't miss Ronnie Lester next to Lute.

You know what's really cool... Look at Fran. Right in the middle of it all, understanding, appreciating and totally involved in the evening. That says a lot. no Lick detachment, no Alford ego, not threatened by the event...instead embracing it. This guy gets it.

I got Wade Jones, team manager, on the right with the white beard. He was on Reinow 8 with me my Freshman year.

Lute looks like never ages. The fountain of youth must be in Arizona but Iowa is home.

Some great memories! I loved watching Lute's teams. Sat on a folding chair under the basket in Des Moines when Iowa played Drake and Bruce "Sky" King was a front line player. I absolutely was stunned by how physical the game was underneath the basket. The view, of course, was like being right on the court with the players. I think I was sore the next day...

Although Lute will be remembered nationally as Arizona's coach, he's still a Hawkeye in my mind, and it's great to see him involved with anything Iowa.

I wish I was old enough to remember seeing his Hawkeye teams. And that Final Four.
