Luke Fickell or Diaco at DC if....

Ohio States loss yesterday means Luke Fickell will probably not get past the interim head coach contract. Fickell would probably not be retained by a new coach. If Norm Parker does decide to retire because of his health then Fickel might be a possible DC replacement. Also, Bob Diaco might want to come back to Iowa. Are there any other possible replacements for Norm?

I wouldn't mind either of those guys. I think it's more likely that we'll be picking from the position coach ranks, or from smaller schools (if we're not promoting from within). I'm not sure what guys are out there that aren't already DCs at a Notre Dame. Fickell will be clean out of a job, but will be looking to become a head coach possibly.

Nice look. I like both and think either is possible. Diaco might like the idea of stability and a chance to get the head gig someday.

Don't want a fo$u guy as our DC.
Diaco would be a good addition, but chances are he's happy at sh!tre dame with the insurance salesman (B kelly) until a head coach job comes calling.

its who KF's want as the DC, that will get the job,KF doesn't care who the fans want or thinks on this, they will have to coach the way he wants them to, so there is no reason to speculate on who it is, and i feel Norm will be here a few more years

I think Bob Elliott wanted to have a shot to replace Hayden then he ran into some serious health issues. He was a very good player and defensive coach. But I doubt he would be interested in coming back to IC.

Not sure how Diaco's defense is stacking up at ND but I didn't think his defenses at Cincy were anything to write home about. Not sure how much of a hand in that he played but that's just my recollection.

Why the hell would Diaco give up a job at Notre Dame to come to Iowa?

Do some of you even think about this garbage before you hit POST?

TylerSash, have you not been looking at the coaching carousel at notre dame the last 10 years? Brian kelly has 2 more years and if he doesnt get ND to a top 5 ranking, BCS game, and in the national championship talk he will be gone. ND's fanbase are nuts. They think it is the 1940s and ND should win the national title every other year.

Do you not realize that the Iowa fanbase is currently ready to run out of town the most successful DC in the history of Iowa football?

How stupid are you?

Well tylersash I can tell you didnt even understand my original post. I said "IF" Norm decides to retire. I am not calling for his removal as I think it is our underachieving offense that is the cause of most of our losses. The only beef I have with Norm's scheme is not playing more 5 and 6 defensive backs in third and long situations and not the occasional fast blitzer straight in the QBs face. But thanks for your harsh comments.

You have no point, because you're an idiot.

I would learn more about football by repeatedly ramming my head into the wall, which is what I feel like after reading your posts.

Why so chippy, fella?
