Luka Garza article

That article kinda makes me think he has more upside than I originally thought.
If I'm not mistaken, he was the hot prospect over Nunge.. Nunge came on strong to finish his senior season so a lot of fans jumped on Nunge as the best prospect. The end result is we have two very good prospects coming in to join an already strong veteran team. Perfect for the future of Hawkeye BB.

This could easily end up being Fran's most underrated recruiting class at Iowa. Fran landed Mr Basketball in Washington DC, a finalist for Mr Basketball in Indiana, and the should-be Mr Basketball in the state of Iowa. Pretty impressive

I think a lot of people were skeptical because they saw video on him before the bone spur surgery, when he was overweight. He looked a little bit lead-footed in those. He had a lot more juice in his legs after he lost the weight and looks like he can do some things on this level.

Fran compared him to Kevin McHale and if he's 80% of KM, we're gonna be alright.

Iowa signed two state Mr. basketball players years ago in one class if my memory serves me right. Michael Payne from Illinois, and Greg Stokes from Ohio. I think Nunge is underrated, and I hope the same for Garza. If the baseball thing works out for McCaffery, I doubt he will be much of a factor for basketball.

He reminds me of McHale and Zach Collins, Gonzaga 5 star freshman center. Collins was adept close to the basket with his hook shot with either hand, soft shot that would bounce or roll in. Zach and Luka both can nail the three.....

As mentioned quite a few times, Fran is building a very nice team, perhaps Final Four Bound two or three years down the road.....

The first highlight video I'd seen of him made me think he had Acie Earls coordination when it came to getting up and down the court. He seemed kinda clumsy and not very fast. But he's got size and skills when it comes to moves around the hoop and shooting. I think he'll be a heck of a player for us maybe earlier rather than later.

There was three state Mr. basketball players signed that year. Garza is suppose to be coming to Iowa city in less than a week, I wonder when Nunge will arrive.

Nice article. Fran is getting some good recruits. The trick will be whether or not these recruits can create good team chemistry. If they can have good team chemistry then this should be fun to watch these young players develope.
Not only is he getting good recruits, he's getting good kids. Because of that, I believe the chemistry will be there. As long as he continues this trend, Iowa basketball is going to continue to get better.

Just my 2¢ .. .. GO HAWKS!!!
