I thought the exact same thing. Watching it at game speed there is no way that is going to get called.

The difference is that was a penalty that got called, that shouldn't have. It did not help that there were blown calls all over the field in that game. I am pretty sure that was the game where the opponent grabbed one of our players face mask and the penalty went against Iowa.

I am afraid so. Everytime a Hawk fan rubs that play into their nose I am sure the response will be that picture.

Perhaps that's a penalty in Conference USA, but no way it gets called at Division 1 by a competent officiating crew and certainly not in a major bowl game.

True, but if Iowa had beaten NIU the Outback Bowl would still be Iowa's New Years Day destination. And I would wager TheDoc would have the same reaction to playing Iowa if the Hawks had beaten NIU.

Yawn, as im sure they were saying the same thing going into the 2005 Cap One Bowl.

After watching the video, I see #29 for LSU is way out of the play and is pushed toward the ball by Nordmann. That's the very opposite of pass interference, more like assistance. You can't see the holding either because that guy was nowhere near making the tackle. Let's all see if we can ignore the LSU forum blowhards, as everyone I know thinks pretty highly of their actual fan base.

I found the logical argument "LSU lost 3 vs Iowa lost 4" to be humorous. As far as losses go, both teams have "bragging rights" as far as the quality of team they lost to. And NIU (despite being MAC and choking on a Bowling Green team to cap their season) were no laughing matter this year. Go Hawks.

For those LSU fans who make fun of our Northern Illinois loss, they lost to a rebuilding Ole Miss. Iowa would be favored against them on a neutral field.
