Lots of BTN.com, ESPNU & TBA on the TV Schedule

I'm not sure what all the TBA's will end up (hopefully on BTN), but as of right now, I see only 5 televised games in our non-conference schedule, with one of them being ESPNU, which some people don't seem to get. I sure hope we get to see more Hawkeye Hoops than this before January.

3 games on BTN.com.. I don't relish the idea of paying extra to watch our team play on what has been a pretty lousy online feed (so far). What happened to all of the BTN "overflow" channels so that all Big Ten games could be televised?

football only. The non-conference basketball coverage is the only negative of the BTN to date.

For the TBD's on the schedule, that has to do with the fact that Iowa/Big 10 don't control rights to those games. The Paradise Jam may/may not be televised, that will be announced closer to the date. When Iowa plays at Drake, Drake owns the TV rights (home team in non-conference games controls that). Possible ESPNU would pick it up but if they haven't announced it yet then probably not. More than likely that will be a Drake TV Network (in other words, shown just in Iowa) game.
Iowa's game at Wake Forest is on ESPNU. Iowa has no control over that. ESPN gets to televise all the Big 10/ACC Challenge games and that one is not compelling enough to put on ESPN or ESPN2. The TBD at the end of the season for Purdue is because CBS has the right the last weekend to pick the game that will most impact the conference race. If it's not on CBS, it will be on BTN. 99% chance it will be on BTN since Iowa won't be contending for the conference crown.

All in all, I'm not too upset about not being able to see an exhibition against Illinois-Springfield, South Dakota State, Louisiana Tech and Idaho State.

This has annoyed me since year one of BTN. Prior to that station pretty much every baskeball game was televised.

I would like to hear from some Cyclone fans and see which school has the better pre-season basketball coverage.

I am betting it will be ISU, especially those that live in the Des Moines area. I wonder if they miss any games....

Sorry, but I do mind missing any games, especially when those games might be 40% of our victories all season. This has frosted me from the beginning with the BTN. They go cheap on alternative channels in December. Even in November when they have the overflow channels for football, they refuse to put bb games on them.
This really blows when you have a team like we have the last three years and probably this year...almost all your wins are in the non-conference,and that means Iowa fans get to see all of maybe 4-6 wins all season on tv. That absolutely kills fans momentum.
It is like being caught in college bb hell...not good enough to get your bb games televised, except when they are big underdogs.
