Looks like IC won't kick out the gameday vendors

Well, as long as the city gets a piece of the action alls good I guess?

Seriously though this is a bit of a joke, the vendors will probably have to pay hundreds of dollars to exactly what they were doing before. The city probably won't even outlaw the lethal punji sticks they were passing out in the guise of meat skewers.

Our government isn't any different than the Mob. This is BS. "We will ban u or make it illegal unless we get a piece of the action". Then we will waste ur frickin money on some stupid bill aimed at propping them up to get reelected. Blow this whole system up and start over...it's not a government of the people anymore.

I actually don't think the permit process is a bad idea. I think it helps get rid of the travelling carnies with the cheap *** "Iowa F'ing City" shirts.

The city didn't kick out the magic bus. The property owners did. They wanted more rent and the bus said no.

I was surprised they didn't already have a permit/license requirement on these vendors. Everyone will just a little more for their big *** turkey leg.

The city council was playing with fire when it considered moving the vendors from Melrose. I am happy there was a lot of backlash from fans. Absolutely ridiculous to consider moving the vendors to a parking lot someplace. Melrose is as much a part of game day on Saturday's as is Back in Black on the jumbo tron.

Is there going to be some sort of evaluation or test to assure that these vendors have some sort of knowledge that comes with the permit? Or are they just going to have to pay the fee and they're good to go? What is the purpose of a permit other than collecting money anyway?

No you will just see less of them on Melrose and even more in the tailgate lots.
