Long off-season for Wisconsin

Lots of 2nd guessing going on the Badger boards: why did Clay only get 7 carries? did the players overlook TCU? why did Sconny abandon the run game?
Wish the Hawks played them next yr, they lose a ton of studs

I don't think so. They have another pretty deep recruiting class coming in and BB has already stepped out of Barry's shadow. The disappointment of the Rose Bowl loss will wear off in a few weeks. I would trade our season finish with there's if I could claim to be Big 10 co-champs and have 11 wins.

yup

I personally agree- Wisconsin is going to struggle next year.
Tolzien gone, Clay probably gone, Kendrick gone, Toon gone (?), Carimi gone, another OL gone, Valai gone, JJ Watt gone.
This is basically the core of their leadership, and I know there are quite a few that i'm missing.

In the end not too much different than us. Stanzi gone, main RB core we expected to play gone, DJK and Sandeman gone, Clayborn, Ballard, Klug gone. Pretty much our core as well.

I can't believe how deliberate they were in that last drive being down 8 points. That drive took way too long. You can't expect to make an automatic 2-point play. I think they should have given it to Clay on the 2-pointer.

I have zero concerns about our offensive talent next season. In fact I think it will be an upgrade, with the possible exception being wide receiver.

Honestly, I know we are supposed to support our Big Ten brothers, but I was glad to see Wisconsin lose. I strongly dislike Bilema.

You are right Watt is a Junior, my bad. Toon is too.
Tolzien, Valai, Carimi, Jefferson, Sorensen, Moffitt, Kendricks, Gilreath, Brinkley, Anderson all gone.
I also see Clay leaving for the Pros... his value is very high and they have 3 guys behind him who are going to take carries from him. I'm sure he's highly irritated after yesterday anyway... I would be.

Yes, that was the first time I've cheered against the Big Ten in a bowl game (dating back to the '84 season).

It felt good to watch them lose - I was emotionally invested in TCU the entire game.

Someone in Madison needs a little humbling.

I think Clay stays. There isn't any desire for 300 lb tailbacks in the NFL. If there's a big hole he can waddle through it. If he gets hit in the backfield he lays down.

Interesting exercise to substitute our own corresponding player names:

"Iowa is going to struggle next year. Stanzi gone, Robinson probably gone, Reisner gone, DJK gone, McNutt gone (?), Vandervelde gone, Greenwood gone, Clayborn/Klug/Ballard gone. This is basically the core of their leadership, and I know there are quite a few that i'm missing."

Iowa wasn't starting 17 senior starters this year like Wisconsin was. They lose veterans at key positions on both sides of the ball.
