lol @ Rays fans leaving in the 9th

With the Braves eliminated, and now my boy Jeremy Hellickson out of the playoffs (I realize he was not on the active roster anyhow), baseball season is officially over for me. I hope to read about a Rangers-Giants World Series at some point. I won't watch any of it though.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Rays. They have terrible attendance numbers, mostly due to their stadium, but are top 5 in all of baseball in local TV ratings. Tampa is a baseball crazed area (more Major Leaguers have come from the Tampa area than any other Metro area) so I think they can support a team. But, with Texas just signing a $3billion TV deal and the Angels close to signing a $4billion deal, maybe they will want to keep their cheap lease at the Trop and milk the TV numbers into a new TV deal...

Baseball should be no where near Florida.

That's funny!

It's funny because Florida is one of the places that Baseball is played year round. Granted, fan interest for a professional team is only in times of success but along with California, Arizona, and parts of Texas, Florida produces some excellent talent.

I'm rooting for a XXXXX-Giants World Series too :p;)

what is this 'baseball' that you guys speak of?

I didn't even realize it was something of relevance during October.

The fact that spring training grounds are there is part of the problem. Florida is stock full of transplants, many of which come to Florida as fans of other franchises. Baseball more than any other sport depends on feelings of nostalgia and history and it hurts them when it comes to Pro-Baseball in Florida.

I'd be willing to bet if you surveyed Tampa you would find more fans of the Sox and Yanks than you would the Rays.

It's not that the stadium in St Pete is tough to get to from Tampa, but it's a drive from the north side of tampa where a lot of $$ is.

I love St Pete. Have a brother in law that lives there and we go there every year. I prefer it to Tampa. But that is not the best place for the stadium. And the stadium stinks.

No bet! I like to at least have a chance of winning when I make a wager. ;)

Giants fans, you guys should consider adding Brooks Conrad to your NLCS roster. He was your MVP in Games 1 and 3!

They already have, here's his jersey ;)
