Locking down the borders of Iowa

With the likelihood that Woodbury will be committing to Iowa, I think this bodes well for future recruits to stay within the borders of the state of Iowa. For far to long, it seems the cool thing to do was to leave the state and not play at one of the big schools, Iowa or Iowa St.. With a top recruit like Woodbury staying instate and to some extent Gesell (I know, he is really from Nebraska, but he does play on an all Iowa AAU club) I think that it could change that mindset with future recruits.

I'm tired of these recruits leaving the state instead of going to Iowa or Iowa St. I hate Iowa St., but still want them to get the recruits they target instate, so long as they don't have an Iowa offer. With that said, today is a great day for Iowa basketball and for basketball in this state.

P.S. - How those apples taste Roy!!!!!

It was the first thing Hayden did when he rebuilt the football program. It's a must that ISU keep the lions share of the top talent in state if both want to be top 25 programs.

NOTE: This is different from saying that our rosters should be made up by predominantly kids from Iowa.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch, not saying that Woodbury won't commit to Iowa, but I want to hear him say it before I jump for joy.

Cant hurt with Jok, and if Marcus starts to reconsider,:) with that being said I like the way we are recruiting the whole country. best player or need in!! Who would be left as a high profile state kid?

I'm with you. I will with hold my cubs winning the world series esque celebration(not a cubs fan) until after I hear him say something along the lines of "Ive decided to take my talents to Iowa City."
