In '11, she was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. It worsened. My grandmother had it before dying. Nasty disease.
I don't think there's any parallel between what happened to Pat Summitt and concussions in football. Perhaps I'm missing it.
I probably did not make my point of irony clear enough. Had this been a former football player that developed this same condition at a similar age there would be an outcry right now that playing football caused this. The point is very limited research on a complicated area of the human body is making a direct correlation to concussions and head trama from playing contact sports when similar degenerative conditions occur without participation in contact sports as evidenced by coach Summit.
Not trying to stir it up...but "very limited research"? There's no part of the human anatomy more researched than the brain.
