Like the BCS needed more controversy

"Monday night, the BCS sent out another release revising its rankings. Jerry Palm, the proprietor of CollegeBCS.com, had spotted an error in Wes Colley's computer ranking. Colley had failed to include the score of the Western Illinois-Appalachian State FCS playoff game in his data set. That omission distorted the BCS rankings. LSU and Boise State were swapped at No. 10 and No. 11, and Alabama and Nebraska were swapped at No. 17 and No. 18."

What is scarier: the fact that the formula needed to be recalculated due to human error or the fact that the outcome of the Western Illinois-Appalachian State game had an impact on Nebraska, Alabama, Boise State, and LSU????

It is especially scary considering that neither Western Ill nor Appy State played any of those teams.
 




And it wouldn't have been caught at all had the Colley ranking not been public.

Where as, the other FIVE computers' are not public at all, even to the conferences.
 




This is weird. Amazing how a couple of meaningless games that are supposed to be minor adjustments due to the use of several computers and throwing out highs and lows, and yet you get teams in the actual rankings get switched. Glad we are still playing a higher ranked Missouri.

Had to bump something new into the mix to get off the DJK thing.
