Lights were too bright for Iowa last night

MSU is a perennial elite 8 team used to the big stage. Iowa is just starting to assert itself into the national scene. That was the difference last night. State played like they had been there before (they had), and Iowa didn't.

It sucks that Iowa's B1G changes fell significantly, but as long as this team continues to grow and start to play big on the big stage as March rolls around, we'll be okay.

I agree, MSU was clearly the more experienced team playing in the "Lights" and it showed last night.

This make sense... and I don't disagree- however we have failed to finish a lot of games the past two years that weren't in the spotlight.

You could see in the first few minutes that they were nervous. Matble's first shot was an 8 footer that barely hit rim and Basabe doinged a layup off the side of the backboard.

Our entire offense had the jitters for about the first 10 minutes of the game. Marble, Basabe, Uhtoff all had jump shots that were not in rythym. I kept thinking if our shots were falling we will blow these guys out. Our defensive intensity was pretty solid, ran them down to the last 3 seconds of their shot clock multiple times all night long. Just had no response in the half court offensive set, which seems to be a bit of a weakness for the boys.

How many seniors are on this team? Exactly. Stop the excuses, it was home game for crying out loud.
