Enjoyed this article. I grew up in NW Iowa right on the SD border. My brother works for WNAX radio and really follows SD sports. I recall him talking about Benson when he was at Wash. A kid from my hometown has the stadium in Brookings named after him, I think. Big donor. I still follow SDand SDS.

Rock Rapids/Central Lyon/George/Little Rock now.

Actually they dropped the RR part now, and they only share football and wrestling with G/LR. They did share softball but Central Lyon just built their own field because the one in George was going to shit. G/LR didn’t want their girls to have to ride to Rock Rapids for practice and games, so Central Lyon said they’re gonna fly solo in that sport now.
