Corbin's odds on who will be Iowa next head basketball coach....

Pearl - 1/12,500 Will make way for Forbes
Keno - 1/250 Not shown enough
Forbes - 1/5 Can and will get the players... but no D1 HC history
Dixon - 1/425 Big step down based on recent past
Barbee -1/5 Has the cred..but the Calapari connection
Krueger - 1/35 has the experience, but what about his history in the B10
Pastner - 1/10 Has memphis headed in the right direction ..why leave now
Williams 1/12 Does he want Iowa?
Drew - 1/25 Same as williams
Majerus- !/12,500 same as Pearl

No bets will be taken.

Odds will change ..like Jon said this is very fluid.
 
I would agree with you with regards that the likes of Forbes and Barbee are likely going to be the pool that Iowa pulls from..dont mean that as an insult. But as I have said before, I have a hard time believing an established major conference coach would want to leave his program for Iowa's right now unless he has not been succeeding or he is vastly underpaid.

If I had to absolutely wager right now on three names, with one of them being the one that winds up being the coach, it would still be a crapshoot but those three names are......

My top three are Forbes, Dixon, and Barbee, in that order. I've watched UTEP's last two games and have been a little underwhelmed at the 2nd half performance of the team. Admittedly, they are the only two games I've watched Barbee coach. I think Forbes would be a very solid choice and have to believe he will end up on Barta's short list.
 
I agree with Jon as far as the pool we will be choosing from.

I do not believe that Barbee is going to get a serious look. The Calipari connection is too strong.

If you are proposing to double one's salary I think people like Drew and Turgeon are on the table.

But the proven nature of Drew and Turgeon to me don't outweigh the potential and the stability of Davis and Forbes.

I honestly believe that there is a 40% chance of Forbes and a 40% chance of Davis and a 20% chance of somebody that we haven't talked about yet or some wild card.

Can we stop with the Barbee talk already? Shady past, ho-hum recruiting since he's been at UTEP, lackluster in-game coach. Thanks, but no thanks.
 
I saw on a UTEP board that Barbee was quoted that he had not been contacted by Auburn yet. No mention of Iowa or any other schools. He has been rumored to be on DePaul's short list for some time.

Don't be surprised if the odds on Pearl aren't a little better than most people think. Besides, the odds are better of being struck twice by lightning before winning the powerball, but that doesn't stop anyone from playing powerball.

Take RJ off the list...I don't want him or his poopy towels. In order I want Pearl 1st, Pastner 2nd and Drew 3rd. Forbes in somewhere #4 or #5. Although I think the odds are best with Forbes. I think if he is offered-the odds are 1/1 that he's our next coach.
 
Some people on Tenn. boards are saying that Boston College might be Bruce Pearl's dream job and that might be one school that he would leave Tenn. for.

How many of those posters are also on the "people of walmart" website. There should be a minimum tooth count to qualify to spout oppinions about men's BBall.
