Lets hope the Bye week makes a big difference

We have to be the least impressive 4-2 team in the country. At this point the most impressive win was the beating the Clones (which is always great) but really our other 3 wins are not impressive. Ive been watching the 1st half of Rutgers at Illinois and Rutgers is running all over Illinois. Same Illinois that ran for 200 against us and out gained us overall. Sure you cant play comparisons but really we have had trouble running against anyone and lately our defense is giving up a lot of yards.
Hopefully we can make some changes and be more aggressive because if we play at the same level after the bye as before i think our chance for more than 2 wins is very slim

I agree our wins are not great but you cant look at yardage stats with Iowa as turnover ratio and redzone efficiency are more important. The hawks bend but dont break can work well when teams have to constantly drive 80 yards. When the Iowa offense sucks, which is too often, the opponent has the short field.

The bend but dont break leads to lots of yards but a generally top 20 scoring defense. But face it the hawks need to start starting fast and score some first half points and quit taking half the game to get agressive both ways.

Wyoming and N Texas are no world beaters and I am still not sure about Iowa State, not sure what happened in Norman.

A few little improvements will make for big improvement.

Agreesiveness isn't the problem.

Comparing the impressiveness of 4-2 is fool's gold.

We have had problem rushing.
We have had problems stopping the rush.
Both are disappointing.

But if you listen to the haters that will maybe force us into the exciting Big12 style of play. Throwing the ball all over the place and de-emphasizing defense.

Our two losses are more impressive than all of our wins except at ISU coming from behind.

I disagree on our aggressiveness when we lay back and wait for the opponents offense to dictate the flow and we read and react instead of trying to disrupt in their backfield.

I always like Brazier's and Bobby Elliott's defensive style more than the Parker's. The Parkers are good at bend and dont break but when KF's offense can be very poor is when that hurts.

I do like watching the aggressiveness of the Mich defense, blitzing most downs, blitzing at the opponents 10 yard line with 90 yards to defend rather than playing bend but dont break.

But they probably are faster than Iowa at about every defensive position which lets them recovver.

This is a good team, and I am sure that they will continue to improve as they use the bye week to get healthier.

However since there is no football to watch this week, I saw this video that you all might enjoy;

Recent history would say it won't matter much. It's a good time to get guys healthy though.

We better improve by quite a bit in order to win 2-3 more games. Our rushing attack, and overall offense is not good, and we have better defenses ahead than what we've seen. Rutgers ran all over Illinois with no trouble at all.
