Legends:

Michigan
Nebraska
Maryland
Iowa
Northwestern
Minnesota
Illinois

Leaders:

Ohio State
Wisconsin
Penn State
Michigan State
Rutgers
Purdue
Indiana

Protected Rivalries are no more.

But WAIT, THERE'S MORE.

I firmly believe that UVA and BC are going to be next! A 16 team SUPERCONFERENCE!!!

Michigan
Iowa
Boston College
Indiana

Ohio State
Northwestern
Virginia
Minnesota

Nebraska
Purdue
Maryland
Illinois

Penn State
Wisconsin
Michigan State
Rutgers

Then we get an NFL style playoff.

Top two teams get byes

Two wild cards and Bottom two conference winners play hosted divisional games
Hosted Semifinals
Championship Game in Indy, but then moves to MetLife Stadium in Le Apple Grande!

I predict this expansion and realignment is going to ruin college sports.

Nothing like mega wealthy schools and conferences trying to make even more money by expanding their territory and increasing everyone's cable bill. And of course at the expense of ruining traditional rivals.

College athletics doesn't even hide the fact that it's all about money anymore.

Hmmm.....don't know. But I predict a new division will be added. It will now be Leaders, Legends, and Losers. You can decide where we'll go.

All you have to do is watch a rerun of 60 minutes from last night.

I predict they rename the Divisions. That might be the only reason they are adding teams to get rid of those ridiculous names.

West:
Michigan
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Iowa
Northwestern
Minnesota
Illinois

East:

Ohio State
Maryland
Penn State
Michigan State
Rutgers
Purdue
Indiana

I hope they realized the mistake they made with the Leaders and Legends divisions and go with geographic aligned divisions the next time around.

West
Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Northwestern, and Purdue

East
Ohio State, Michigan, MSU, Indiana, Penn State, Rutgers, and Maryland

I actually would really like those splits and would love to get UW and IL back on the schedule every year. If Delaney doesn't do that, he can go die.

There was no mistake. OSU and UM will not be in the same division.

This would guarantee Iowa would never play in the Big 10 championship game. The Hawks' play on the football field has already sunk them to Iowa State's level (pre-Rhoads)....might as well complete the process by loading the division.

You mean, like the BCS system does?

It is too bad Notre Dame didn't come on board, this would have been some nice 4 team divisions.

#1
Iowa
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Minnesota

#2
Penn State
Maryland
Rutgers
Boston College

#3
Ohio State
Notre Dame
Illinois
Purdue

#4
Michigan
Michigan State
Indiana
Northwestern

MAC:
Iowa
Minnesota

Really bad news for us... much less money, and when was the last time we were able to be beat a MAC opponent?

I would hope they'd go with straight geography. You'd have to split IU and PU, but all other rivalries (MI-OSU, MI-MSU, MN-WI, IA-MN, ILL-NW, etc) would be in the same division. But I'm guessing they'll put Maryland and Rutgers in the Leaders and move Illinois to the Legends. Jon - any thoughts on this?
