Let Yesterday Be An Important Lesson To Some

Not one person here suggested that Kirk Ferentz be fired.
Not one person suggested that they could do better than Kirk Ferentz.
Not one person suggested that Kirk Ferentz wasn't a good coach
Not one person suggested that Kirk Ferentz isn't the best coach for Iowa.
Not one person suggested that Iowa wasn't lucky to have Kirk Ferentz.

All people suggested was that a coach that is UNIVERSALLY acknowledged as a very good coach and by some as a great coach could continually have issues in some of the more elementary aspects of the game.

Iowa has an incredibly football savvy fanbase. All you have to do is go to a Wisconsin game and see a student section that thinks they are at a rock concert to notice the difference.

All we wanted was for the coach that EVERYONE agrees is a special part of the University of Iowa on so many levels, to be honest with the fans and acknowledge that the coaching staff screwed up.

Asking tough questions as a fan or a media member does not make you a Nebraska fan, whatever the hell that means.

And as maybe the smartest poster on this board CAARHawk{B] said yesterday. As soon as the press conference ended, this issue is now closed.

Now let's go beat State and hoist the trophy at the end of the year. We no longer control our own bowl destination, but we still control being the conference champs.

so saying when he gets that call from the NFL again that maybe he should answer it isn't suggesting that someone else could do better and we don't want him here?

Sounds like we're beating a horse to death here. Let's move on.

I never saw anyone say that, but be sure it wasn't that troll that was going nuts right after the game. That was the only guy saying we should fire him and what not, and he wasn't even a Hawk fan.

Steve - that was my fear in making the post. But I really wanted to make sure that we are able to differentiate between what happened here the past three days and wanting the coach gone. Simply not the case.

If Ferentz had been fired a few years ago when people were calling for it he would be winning NCs some place else. People have to realize how much we have to develop talent at Iowa. Id clone the guy and have him as a permanent coach for the end of time if I could.
