Leaving the NIT for just a moment...

If anyone picked the Sweet 16 accurately I applaud you and would like you to accompany me to Vegas next year for the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Here are my picks in the 8 games to be played today and tomorrow. Who do others like?

Marquette (I know but they probably should have lost twice already.)
Ohio State
Indiana
Wichita State
Louisville
Michigan
Duke
Florida

I agree .. except I think Miami will beat Marquette.

GO HAWKS!!!

My head says Miami. My gut says Marquette...feel like they will ugly the game up enough to win another close one at the end. Also, I know Miami's center doesn't have huge stats but he's very important to the team and will be missed in this particular game IMO...perhaps enough to tip the game in Marquette's favor.

I can't really argue very strong for Marquette. That's why I already kind of hedged with my comment in parentheses.

I have Miami winning it all. The problem is that they may not get by Indiana with their center out. That's a huge blow and may have an affect on the Marquette game.

GO HAWKS!!!

I'm in a confidence point bracket rather then a normal bracket. Wichita state could kill me. I'm pulling hard for La Salle tonight.

The tournament is exactly why I gave up betting (real money) on sports a very long time ago.

Other than losing because of flukes, etc, not-betting real cash returns the game (for me) back to a purely entertainment mode.

Anyway, I went from 96% ESPN bracketology to a pedestrian 70% after last night's games. Ugh.

I thought last nights games were easy picks. The one I was stressing over was AZ vs. OSU and it proved my concern was justified.

The B1G has just about the worse possible draws across the board in the sweet 16.

Kansas has the type of inside presence that can dominate UM's group of wing type players. Duke is patient enough to play with MSU. CUSE had the athleticism and strength to take it at Indy's finesse game, and AZ had the players to exploit OSU's difficulty with stopping lane penetration.

Seriously, I haven't jumped on the Barkley bashing bandwagon, because I wasn't confident about any of the B1G's sweet 16 games.
