Paul wouldn't be "so proud" of Campbell soup right now......you don't go calling on recruits that are committed...
Except Ferentz called Lazard and, according to an SI article, called Ezekiel Elliott after he committed to tOSU. Or someone at the behest of Ferentz did so.
There's no honor in recruiting by anyone it sounds like, including us.
That's it. It takes two to have a phone call. If the kid isn't open to it then that's it that's all. It's a door that swings both ways. And it's just the system in which all schools have to play by. This isn't really even a gray area to me. Till the fax goes through a kid isn't officially a part of the team and is open to be recruited or even dropped. Iowa had that QB in Illinois that was committed a couple years ago for quite awhile but then like part way or after his senior season (in which he changed High schools) he stunk it up Iowa yanked his offer. I thought it was weird that Iowa had 3 qbs on the hook and was hoping one of those 3 would have opened themselves back up(maybe Iowa did too) but since none did and he was the bottom of the heap as far as a prospect goes they yanked his. I'm sure his family wasn't too happy with that but hey since coaches/programs can do that all the way up to signing day then kids can change their minds up to signing day too. Just is what it is.KF has stated that he thinks it is ok to call a recruit who has committed - but if he tells you that he isn't open to that phone call, he will stop or no longer do so.
Paw says something completely the opposite and was grandstanding, at best, at his 'recruiting' coup.......over the 'hoks'....
