Interesting. The thing that sticks out to me is that other than D Green none of them have really been standouts in the NBA. As good as we all think our conference is it seems we should have more stellar performers. Some of them have had a modicum of success but that's it.

Just taking a quick look, outside of the Michigan guys and Swanigan everyone else on that list was a JR or SR when they won the award. None of them were FR when they won the award.
In this era of college basketball, being in college past your FR season is not a good sign for your pro potential. Being in college past your SO season is a very bad sign. A high percentage of NBA standouts are only in college for 1 year so are never really standout players at the college level.
Kudos to Green for bucking that trend but he is known as much for being a goon and agitator than being a great defender.
That's pretty common actually. In the Big 12 only 2 freshman have won POY and only 2 sophomores have won it since 1997. The freshman: Michael Beasley and Kevin Durant, who were phenomenal. Michael Beasley's college stats are actually just mind blowing if you ever look at them. The sophomores, Blake Griffin and Jarrett Culver who led TT to the Final Four.
