Larry Tracy Decommits

Tyrone signed last month. He and Larry are close but also their own people. Btw, they’re cousins, not brothers if folks didn’t know.

So did Iowa just cool on him? Seems odd that we'd just stop communicating with an early target. Typically our early targets/commits are ones we really want...

I haven’t reached him yet so I’d just be speculating as to why. He committed early in the process and really didn’t visit anywhere else, though. He’s picked up some new offers recently. Maybe he wanted to check out some other campuses. If he does, he needs to decommit.

Looks like Purdue offered, gets to stay closer to home. So be it. We'd feel the same about an Iowa kid. Minny offered as well. If he goes there, then I would question his judgment.

Does a decommit by the kid mean he's done at Iowa? Practically speaking, I understand, but as a rule, is that true?

Iowa is pretty stacked with DBs the last couple classes. I could see between having other offers pop up and how early he committed he may as well keep his options open. Unless he had a chance at being on offense I don't see this as a big deal.

So by no means is the door shut either. We still have 3 signing days in between now and the latest time he could sign yet.

I just posted a story with him talking about his decision.
OK. I guess I always thought that if a kid de-committed from Iowa that he was effectively, if not actually, done. Has Iowa had guys in the past 10 years, give or take, de-committed only to come back to Iowa? I'm asking, not commenting.

I don't see that he has committed anywhere as of yet. Any word? Would Iowa still take him or are all spots filled?

He's a 2019 recruit. We have plenty of spots open still. I doubt he's in a hurry right now to commit again anywhere.
