Yesterday 3/3/16 was a good day for Iowa. Here are some of the results of the bubble that can help Iowa.

Iowa won!
Michigan lost
Duke lost
Missouri lost
Minnesota lost
Oregon lost

Here is what will help Iowa today.

Iowa beats Maryland, they are a lock! That would be a quality win.

Also helpful would be:

South Carolina over Auburn
Notre Dame over Duke
Ohio State over Rutgers
Msu over Purdue
Oregon State over USC
George Mason over George Washington

I hope you are right, but ESPN has at least 8 teams ahead of Iowa that are not in. I believe 3 have lost and 2 who are in have lost. So they definitely need to win, but that may not be enough. Just to be sure we should win the tournament. If we shoot like yesterday and rebound like the last time we played the Terps that should do it. Then tomorrow Indiana or Northwestern...

I think we are WNIT bound. I hope they make a deep run because they get better each game. They actually played the Terps much tougher than the score indicated. They got beat up and faded at the end, but they really played well in parts of the game. Just wish we had another Gustafson coming in next year - it's a great class, but they're all wings and guards.

Not to dump on the seniors but it doesn't look like Iowa women lose much next year...18 minutes from Peschel and thats it. Might be better for them to try a deep NIT run and play some more games for the future?

Duke lost, now they have 12 losses. Iowa could jump them. Auburn's loss also took them to 12 losses. I would expect USC to lose bring them to 13 losses, and Rutgers to 14 losses. The biggest loss was yesterday though. Minnesota was picked as in but they made an early exit against Northwestern. Things could still be shaping up for this team.

Would love to see them get into the big dance but if they don't and they get to the NIT it still will benefit them. Just like one of you guys said it might benefit them more because they could make a deeper run and gain a huge amount of experience.

You are right, but I feel compelled to mention Claire Till she graduates too and has played little this year because of knee surgery again. She lost a bunch of time throughout her career starting in high school because of knee surgeries. Last year she was an undersized, but very tough post defender who frequently gave us some key minutes when Bethany was in foul trouble. We certainly could have used her today. I remember last years game when we beat the Gophers and Claire gave us about 10 minutes against Amanda Zaui B. She was a great locker room presence and will be missed, but didn't get on the court much this year.

Well said.

The other games had positive results for Iowa too.

In Iowa's favor:

Iowa is playing their best basketball of the season.

They have a high strength of schedule rating.

They have 2 rpi top 50 wins.

The fans show up and travel well, a big consideration in the women's tournament.

There is no doubt that how well the fans follow a team aids in their selection. If Iowa were to get in and play in Iowa City as a 10/11 seed I'd hate to have to face them. They played Maryland well for long stretches of that game. They would be a tough out.
