Lack of toughness and talent

Hawks basketball team lacks toughness and talent. The only gritty center on the team graduates in the spring. Lack of gritty wing players is a problem. No recruits over 6'7" on the way. Don't have a "2" man to put on the floor. Lack of a quality point guard. It appears to me that UNI recruited the toughest Iowa kids! Where are all of these great shooters that Iowa keeps telling us about. We need scorers that eat raw meat! No 20 wins this year or next. I've never seen a 7'1" center take so many 2 ft set shots-and get them blocked. All-American point guard should have stayed in JC. Good luck Fran

We do seem to be getting pushed around and not giving it back. Seemed like every time Aaron went up for a shot at the basket he was slammed on the floor by one or sometimes two clones. Greg Olaseni does play tough, not afraid to mix it up.....

We need to get back on the ball tomorrow night and start playing solid team basketball. Break out of this stuper we seem to be in.....

I'm still trying to figure out where this team really fits. I think we've lost to teams that were clearly better than we were, and have beat (with the exception of UNC) the teams we should have. That said, it still doesn't give us any indication as to where this team fits in.

I've being hearing about "toughness" or lack thereof since the Alford era... Could it be that more talented players are "tougher"?

Agree on lack of attitude, though. Could use Chris Kingsbury and Ed Horton on this team.
