Kyle Meyer and who else

I agree with the comments about the point guard position. I think Fran and company went all in with Guerrero for this class and just didn't quite pull it off. We could still bring in a JUCO point guard and I would really like to see that happen but reading the tea leaves it looks like they have focused their efforts on bringing in guards who can play the point in the next class. I think we will see one true point guard come in next year along with a combo type like Gessell. We just won't have any true point guards with any experience the following season when we have the potential to probably have a pretty good team.

I think that is a good bet. Gesell could handle both duties, but it would be nice to have him on the wing, just waiting to cut or shoot.

Give me Hornbeak with Gessell & Woodbury. Fran has already spread from coast to coast with Cartwright (Cal) and Basabe (NY). Now lets starting hitting up talent from Texas.

Change of heart... I'll gladly take Kenny Gaines. I think he could thrive in the system that Fran wants to eventual run.

Hate to say it, but I am not terribly excited about a white PG from NE being our answer to the PG spot post BC. Unless Gessel is Aaron Craft good, I am not sure he can step into a prominent role.

Given our need for depth at PG for this season (IMO), the staff easily could have latched on to a juco kid, but they really must not have wanted one. We don't need Chris Paul, just another Cartwrght or Chauncely Leslie type......lots of them out.

If he were a black point guard from Nebraska like Andre Woolridge, would you be more apt to take him? From reading your posts, it seems you have a bad habit of pigeon holing basketball players based on geography and race and ignoring their talent. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what it seems like.

If Woodbury is getting all these offers that are much, much better than Iowa, then it is a good thing Iowa was able to secure Meyer the way they did.
While it is not a given Woodbury is or is not a Hawk, he is the one people are concentrating on that is getting the offers and won't be.

So that said, Bell/Gesell/Hornbeak are the three that shoot to the top of my list. Woodbury is still at the top and if he says yes to Fran then Bell/Gesell are the other two as originally.

That was quite the racist post and full of ignorance.

I could care less about Gesell's skin tone. I guess I just need some more recent vids of him. The ones I see show him finishing well below the rim and don't really show much in the way of him being a big distributor. AAU reports say he finishes above the rim, so it might just be the available clips. Although the vids I have seen are from April this year.
