Kirk Ferentz Thoughts

Just wanted to know the thoughts from some of you if KF did, in fact decide to step away from Iowa Football.

I would venture to re to say you all would still appreciate him if he did right? I would love to hear your thoughts.

I've met KF a handful of times. He seems like a decent, standup guy. Players often talk about the impact he has made on them personally. The city, state and hospital have benefitted tremendously from his generosity. Plus, he's given me some of my favorite football memories.

It's still time for him to go. If he chooses to walk away now, I'd feel tremendous relief that my favorable opinion of him could remain intact.

Of course! Can't argue with what he did 10 years ago. It was top-notch work and he deserves all the praise for that. What he's done lately is not, and so if he wants to step away, then he deserves even more praise for stepping away before harming the program.

I would feel relief....would thank him for his services but still think he was allowed to stay waaaaay to long....most stubborn coach I've EVER seen. Stubborn when you are in the middle of success is one thing....but not when you are coaching at a .600 clip and losing to doormats for going on 5 years.

I think this has been the greatest frustration for many. If Iowa was playing a packed schedule and getting the results they've been getting, that's one thing, but to regularly lose to teams they've been losing to over the past few years is what has been maddening. I think Ferentz is right about this - you're as good as your record says you are. As arrogant as it sounded at the time, the Nebraska AD was probably correct when he said (I'm paraphrasing) that beating Iowa is no big deal any longer.
