Kirk: CJB will play significant minutes

2 QB playing significant minutes = disaster.
I cannot fathom why an experienced coach would attempt to do this???

We are watching a tryout. Ferentz has seen enough good stuff from CJB the last two games that he feels he needs to see a little more. I think he is waiting for CJB or JR to prove why they deserve to be the starter. He has always said that he will play the best players. Much like back in 2008, Stanzi had to prove why he deserved to start over Christiansen.

Hmmm ... one of several things:
1) He believes he'll get the same impotent short game from Jake, forcing him to play CJ to spark the offense into moving down field.
2) He expects Jake to be less than 100% recovered and is not going to last an entire game.
3) He actually has a plan (3 days ahead of schedule ;) ) and is truly going to give each of them a fair shot to perform and stay true to the "hot hand" strategy.
4) "Significant" is a very subjective and relative term, Jim.

I'm going with #1 and #4.

I just hope he doesn't forfeit this Indiana homecoming game like he did the Pitt game back in '08. Just like in '08, when Stanzi was "the hot hand" at Pitt, there is ample evidence that CJB is the current "hot hand". He still couldn't bring himself to commit to the change and had to keep giving his incumbent another shot -- sacrificing series and, ultimately, the game. As in most aspects of the on-field "offensive" product, his comfort level and amount of time to be thoroughly convinced will hinder the performance and progress of this team.

Ok, who needs to change their score prediction from the other thread? Yikes....where's the chemistry coming from if we do this?....Kirk is playin w/fire

I can't imagine this goes well. Id rather he just say Ruddock is the starter and if he struggles we bring in CJ. This system based on "feel", no idea what to expect.

Well, look at it this way. This makes this game about the most interesting Iowa/Indiana game since we saw Adam Shada try to cover James Hardy (interesting in a road kill sense of course) or Randle El moved on to he NFL.

Remember when randle el ran for like 220 yds against us and we still won like 41-28. Still the best on field performance of an opposing player of a game I have been too.

As as for the qb thing, Iowa definitely needs to establish the run otherwise there isn't much doubt that at some point in time the passing game will stall a bit. I think they will run pretty well on sat tho.

Do we have a lot of experience and success just going by "feel"? Are we pretty good as of late with game day adjustments? Ruh roh.

Lemme get this straight...
Kirfer gives CJ playing time and people beach.

Kirfer lists Rudock as the starter but says both will play and people beach.

KirFer says both will get significant playing time and people beach.

Did I get that right?

Lets try try one more experiment...
The sky is blue.

Actually, the sky is all colors. It's only seen as blue because that is the only color that is reflected back.

Wow, this is arrogant. Given that each of our QBs is going to be out there trying to light the world on fire, I predict each will have two drives early that are fewer than 5 plays. TOP at halftime will be lopsided toward Indiana (despite their attempted quick strike offense) and we'll be down 17-0. This could be a disaster, boys (and Ginger).

isn't that what color is?
The definition of color is a component of light which is separated when it is reflected off of an object.

If it reflects blue, then its blue.

except if you live in Chicago, then its grey.

Weird, you spend so much time in the past whining about using the term "Ginger"....and then you use it. I can see why you get so many thumbs down on your trolling attempts.
