Wonder how much longer Wallace remains at Iowa before someone comes in with at least an offer to be DC.
You just made me feel very old when you said Phil was 56.He was named assistant defensive coordinator two years ago. He's the heir apparent to Phil Parker, who is 56.
The question will be if he waits for Phil to retire or gets an offer somewhere else. Either way, I think he gets first crack at Iowa DC job when Phil rides off into the sunset.

He shows up quite a bit in footage of the iconic 1985 game vs Iowa. Whether chasing Robert Smith into the end zone, being carried (along with four others) by Mike Flagg into the end zone, or trying to stay with Bill Happel on that epic final drive, he is prominent.
He was not, however, on the field for Long's bootleg. Perles, or Norm, must have had a short yardage/goal line package in for that play.
I'm going to be 54 soon. I became a grandfather last November. I am closer to 80 than I am to my college days. How time flies!
I was in the North end zone. Our section would yell "tastes great" and your section would yell "less filling" before the chants got a little more vulgar...That was a great game. As a student, I had tickets 70 rows up on the five yard-line of the end zone Long walked into for the win.
I thought I recalled Phil Parker recount, at an I-Club event in KC his first year on staff, that he was in on that play. They had a freshman CB on the side that Iowa ran to. The freshman CB totally bit on the fake, despite the fact that Phil said he warned him about that very play in the huddle before it happened.
I am pretty sure that is the story Phil Parker told. But it was 20 years ago when I was at that event. I could be misremembering it.
It was a great game, regardless.
Could Iowa and New England swap coaches?
Would we notice?
Brady let Kirk comb his hair for him. Kirk softly sang..."pretty, so pretty"Sounds like Kirk addressed Patriots after practice today and was received very well. Belichek had glowing words for Kirk.
