Kinnick was not quite empty last weekend

I have not run a 5k, but it is on my bucket list. I really do not like running. But this sounds extremely cool. I think I will try this next year.

Thanks for posting.

Looks cool, but not sure I would have missed a chili cook off for it. Have the organizers never run a 5K before? They need to put up starting corrals to split the field up by time and get the walkers to the back.

They all refer to that but having run many, if you want to run it get up front because quite a few will be further up front than they should be or just don't have a clue.

If you ever see me running - or like peddling a bike or a trike or something- it's likely one of those SAW situations where if I stop running or pedaling I'll explode.

Life isn't like the movies. Nobody will be able to help you.

Yes, 3,000 runners is a pretty large field. (I think the Bix in Davenport has between 8,000-10,000 but that's a world class field). They should have staggered it like they do the BIg 10 5k which I hope to run someday.

In my college days I ran the Turkey Trot and the River Run. The Turkey Trot race was tough-the course at Finkbine was grassy and hilly. In my mid to late forties secondary peak I was running about 6-12 races a year. Could still break 27 minutes for a 5k on a good day.
