kinda feel like this is the team of destiny

When looking at the stats from the nebby game there is no reasonable explanation as to why Iowa won that game but they found away with turnovers. Last time I felt this feeling is WAY back in high school after we knocked off a team that had kicked our ***** 3 straight years. After that the entire team got this aura of invincibility. We believed we could not lose. I'm getting the same feeling about the hawks this year. I was dead sure Iowa would slip up once and lose to someone they shouldn't but they didn't. 12-0, nobody can take a perfect regular season away from you. Now finish it off, get that big 10 championship trophy and let eSECpn eat a nice big bowl of feces.

yes, I finally believe

I was thinking the same thing today. If you look up "destiny" in the dictionary there is now a Tiger Hawk picture next to it. Let's do this thing.

I'm not taking issue with your sentiment here, but I'm tired of the narrative that Iowa was outplayed by Nebby. The stat sheet is wonky because Iowa scored on big plays. When you score on big plays, you don't need long sustained drives. Yes, Armstrong played a horrible game, but no interception is a "gimme."

Didn't our dee have a pick 6 for like 2 yards. We weren't outplayed imo.

The hawks gave up a lot of yards between the 20 yard lines. Nebraska had 4-5 turnovers, 4 scoring drives, and 5-6 punts so the hawks stopped them effectively. those turnovers flipped the field, stopped their offense and made a lot of Nebby's yards a waste.

That goofy 4th and 1 is like a turnover in that they had a bunch of yards but no score.

Hold the phone here. The stats didn't reveal that nebraska outplayed iowa or that we were lucky. As giving as nebby was we still forced the mistakes. We put them in the down and distance. Our special teams pinned theM deep. Our players caught the errant throws. They had 300 yds passing and threw 45 times because the defense made them work to score. We played better special teams in returning a punt for positive field position and scored 2 quick tds. You will see a losing team coming from behind having more stats often enough. One team is milking clock, playing safe conservative football, punting, avoiding catastrophic mistakes. The other is desperate. Yards aren't points.

Destiny has nothing to do with it. Iowa made the plays they had to make to win all 12 games. Will we defeat MSU? Only if we make the necessary plays. Destiny has nothing to do with it. Personally, if we lose to MSU it will do nothing to change my feelings about this season

Three scores in four plays if I remember right. That changes the stats. I also think we went into ultra conservative mode due to the cold. So no, we weren't outplayed.

I was thinking the same thing earlier today about this team. They seem destined for something great. I hope it keeps going for three more games.
