KF using the program for leverage?

It came to my attention that maybe KF may be using this long delay in announcing Parker as DC to help give his son leverage with the Patriots organization. If true what's your thoughts if he is doing this?

Sounds very possible and if you play out with what has been going on with NE superbowl run, open positions there, BF's aspirations, KF pushing back the search everytime NE advanced, the fact BF's name was thrown out there a couple of times as coming back, and the very strong rumors that it is already Parker and it hasn't been announced yet, and if true then why?

I for one don't think it is the case but when I heard this and played it out in my mind over and over again, it seemed more and more realistic. If true, I think it is appalling.

Doesn't sound plausible at all. If the Patriots believe BF will be the Defensive Coordinator at Iowa, they're idiots.

There is your problem. Stop playing it out in your mind because it is silly and you will be fine.

I think they are unrelated. Brian isn't likely to come on the defensive side of the ball and no one from the offensive side of the ball seems to be leaving.

Absolutely implausible. Did you stay up last night trying to come up with some sort of a conspiracy theory? Wow.

I doubt that at all.

I think there may be some other moves and they are waiting until after signing day...and if a coach from one of the two remaining NFL teams join the staff, then that would be a part of it too.

I could see Coach Campbell getting a nice bump in pay too, and additional title...he is a huge asset on this staff in recruiting and other.

When its all said and done, I think Phil Parker is the DC, Levar Woods is the DL Coach...then Iowa needs to fill the DB coach, and if Reese Morgan retires, a new OL coach...

It's not true. I don't have any thoughts on it other than that. Ferentz isn't the kind of guy who would do something like that. You should know that. You're just looking way too far into it. I understand because we've been waiting on the DC news for awhile... which leads people to overthink a bit. I think that's a pretty normal thing to do. Not trying to bash you or anything.

Ferentz is just waiting for things to shake out. He probably already knows who the DC will be but he wants to wait until all the positions are filled before making an announcement.

What are the chances Brian Ferentz would be the OL coach?

That's certainly a possibility, if not now then at some point in the future, but it doesn't have anything to do with what the OP is claiming, which is that KF is intentionally delaying his own announcement so that his son can get a better position/more money from the Patriots. The entire concept is barmy.

If anything, Brian has shown already in his career that he doesn't want to be too closely tied to his father, which is smart. You have to prove yourself on your own terms if you want to be a success. The way both men have handled themselves as Brian has started his career has been first-class.

And that would be the very worst possible thing for the program right now...

Totally agree, my comment was more towards Jon's comment of a possible Morgan resignation. I do not believe KF is trying to leverage for Brian, and if he is Kraft is WAY to smart for that.

So in your mind Kirk considers the search for a new DC to be more relevant to Brian's career than it is to his own? You think he's wiling to toy with his livelihood in order to further his adult son's career? Are you sure you thought this through or is the OP a put on?

His adult son, who just coached the single greatest season ever at his position. I think BF will do just fine on his own.

Insanity reigns when conspiracy theories this far-fetched take root in someone's brain. Take a break from Iowa football message boards.

no reason for Parker to stop coacing DB, as he can do both. KF can get a coach that can concentrate on ST that would allow Wilson to spend all his time on LB'rs and Erb to put all his time on RB's

Geez don't shoot the messenger. If your read my original post I said I doubt it is the case but I was just relaying what I heard. Wanted to see what people thought.
