KF sent Fran a letter after the ISU loss.

Dear Fran,

I know we discussed a game plan for Iowa State of getting out to a comfortable, seemingly insurmountable lead at halftime then sitting on the ball in an attempt to hold on for the win, but as "New Kirk" I'm having second thoughts and I just want you to keep your foot on the gas and don't give them any confidence of a comeback.

I hope that you receive this letter in time as I seem to have forgotten your e-mail address and cellphone number, apparently "Old Kirk" is still in charge of that stuff. -insert your own snort here to indicate that I was making a joke-

Best Regards and Good Luck,

Kirk

The Iowa State loss happened on a Thursday. On Sunday, Iowa players returned for meetings expecting to break down the painful game film. Instead, McCaffery shared Ferentz’s letter with the team.
“He just threw (the game film) away,” senior guard Anthony Clemmons said. “He wanted us to throw out our negative thoughts.”
The letter, Clemmons said, “hit everybody in our locker room.” He said the letter reminded the players just how much of the season was still in their control.
Spirits were lifted.

Dear Fran,

Remember when I said you could borrow Marshall Koehn to drop kick Morris in the gonads if I could use Woody in the end zone a couple times in Pasadena? Welp, I'm thinking we should have made it happen.

Respectfully yours,

Kirkster
