Key to success is confidence

As with all things in life, confidence was the main reason Iowa won last week’s game. This was clearly seen among the team's leadership, but I think the coaching staff displayed a renewed sense confidence not seen in months, or even years. On all sides of the ball, the hawks looked like they owned it: Sash’s lateral, Kirk’s late 2nd quarter timeouts, Stanzi's gutsy throw to Arob for a TD, and the vicious punt return coverage that, in my opinion, seemed too worried about pursuing earlier this year. Seldom do we see Iowa play with this type of gusto, but it was palpable on the field last Saturday.

I think the rest of this year lies in the hands of the leadership of this team. If they can instill the type of confidence we saw last week, there isn’t a team in the country that can take them down. Only so much perspiration can win games, inspiration seems to be the difference with this team.
