Kentucky's New Living Quarters

Wow, those are nice. As much money as these kids bring in the least the schools can do is let them live in style like this.

I think this is a lot of flash, but when it comes down to it - don't these kids want to hang out with their peers? Don't they want to still be college kids? This building is going to be under 24/7/365 scrutiny...i just think this isn't going to be as much fun as they think it is.

They can - but this is just a better way to monitor them. I'm sure they don't have to stay in their room every night.

So is all of this free for them with room and board? It seems like an insane amount of NCAA violations. Maybe not I guess...

As long as over 50% of the dorm is available for regular students, it's not an NCAA violation. So I'm sure there will be about 16 rich kids living on a floor in that dorm somewhere too.

The old wildcat lodge was more luxury condo style, less luxury dorm style. It was more like a 13 bedroom vacation home. UK got in a jam about it back in the early 80's and had to add a few monks cells in the basement for non athletes to stay in. This did have the added benefit of providing servants for the basketball players.

Here is a pic of the old lodge.
