Keno Davis really sounds like his dad

Keno was ok in my opinion. Offered some decent insight but you could also tell it was one of his first games. His voice did not change and there was no excitement, but I also wasnt expexting much.
He did sound an awful lot like his old man though.

He gets a head of grey hair and puts on a few and he will be Tom. Yes, sounds exactly like him.

Incredible. When i turned the game on I thought it was Mr. Davis (I didn't know it was Keno).

Why in the heck did he ever leave Drake? He had it rolling there. Too bad.....

Because he caught lightning in a bottle one year and used that to get rich.

Keno does sound like his dad.
Thought he did a good enough job.
I like Keno but was glad to see him fail at Providence. I thought he should have showed some loyalty to Drake.
Would like to see him back at Drake. I do not like Phelps.

Can't really consider it color if he.never changes his tone or inflection. Boring.

I thought Keno had some good insights...I felt his delivery was a bit flat, however....and it also sounded like they had his mic level too low. This stuff takes time for people to develop and get comfortable.

Yeah, that's nice of ya...because we should all stay at our current jobs out of loyalty when someone else offers to double or triple our salary for doing the exact same thing on a bigger stage...

Edit: Not coming after you personally, Stateline...just don't like that line of thinking.

There is loyalty, and then there is 10+ million dollars... With only one returning player in Josh Young, he had no choice. Very few people can be set for life with the stroke of a pen.
I would have liked to see him stay, but reality is reality. His only mistake with picking the Big East. Too much competition.

He did ok as a color, for probably his first game ever at doing it, but needs some more experience.

Keno had an opportunity to take care of his family, financially, for the rest of his life...he was able to do that at a young age.

If presented with a similar opportunity, my guess is most people would have done the same thing. He got a 7 year, 7 million dollar deal...he was there three years and earned 3mil, and I don't know the value of his buyout, but I would guess it was for at least 333k for each remaining year.

He sounded exactly like Mr. Davis. Was gonna bash him for his poor performance as a color commentator, but if that was his first performance, as most are saying, I will let it go. But he's gotta lot of work to do.

He was a logical choice to do the color on this game, with his history with both programs. I thought he was ok....I was just enjoying a solid Iowa win too much to let anything bother me.
I suspect he ended up with 5 million for 3 years at Providence...good work if you can get it.

I knew people would bring up the money aspect of it and I somewhat understand it. The money Keno was making at Drake would be more than enough to support my family and a couple others.
Not disagreeing with others about the money situation. Not many of us are given a situation where if we fail we are still set up for life.
I am guessing I am a little older than most here and I still appreciate a little loyalty.

And if he would have stunk for the next three years at Drake, they might have kicked him to the curb.

In college coaching, there are a lot of things...one thing there is not, usually from both sides, is loyalty.

It would have taken him to stink more than three years. See Rudy Washington, Kurt Kanaskie and now Phelps.
