Keith Murphy report on Norm Parker

Keith Murphy is reporting that Norm Parker will be at the game on Saturday. Not on the sidelines, but at the game (and presumably in the locker room). This would be a HUGE psychological boost for Iowa's defense. :D

after witnessing the D's inability to get off the field on third down, I didn't think they'd be able to keep him away

Great news for Norm and the team. If anything he'll be there to remind his staff and players that it's okay to pin your ears back every once in a while and GET AFTER IT!

Norm's probably ****** at how his defense has done against Arizona (pretty good except for giving up the game winning drive. Granted, it was right after the pick-6), against Michigan (let the Wolverines come right back into it? Really?!) and then Wisconsin (it's bend-but-don't-break. Not bend, bend, bend and then finally snap).

Hopefully he gets the defense fired up and we go out for the rest of the season and rip people's heads off. Figuratively, of course.

This is great news. We miss Norm more than we missed Stanzi and Hampton last year combined. It would be nice if they were able to put up some footage of him talking to the players before the game gets started.

I know this is besides the point but did anyone watch sound-off this week and listen to roughly the last two minutes? Sorry Dolph and Eddie but that was golden, really good humored. Being at the game Saturday as a student after this rough loss it was good to hear something to take my mind off of what I witnessed that afternoon. Good job Murph and Andy.

Go Hawks!

This is just what this team needed. A tough loss...questions and then get a returning hero back in your midst. This will really be huge, I don't think you can underestimate how this will affect everyone, coaches and players. Also remember two tough road trips takes a toll mentally on a team, this is MSU's 2nd one in as many weeks. I look for a smack down by Iowa in this one.

Kirk said Norm may be at the game but not involved with practices, etc. Doesnt matter really as having him around will give players a lift. He also knows the D like back of his hand so will be giving suggestions/orders if he is there, I am sure.
