Keenan Evans from T TECH reminds me of Ronnie Lester

Awesome. So true. Thank you for that.

Some buddies and I skipped school and attended an Iowa practice at the Fieldhouse after the Georgetown upset win and before they left for the Final 4. It was an open practice. Imagine that. And we were the only fans there! Afterwards we got autographs from the entire team including Lute.

They were all absolutely wonderful and generous with their time especially Ronnie, Bobby Hansen, Kevin Boyle and Kenny Arnold. Kenny actually came up to the bleachers and talked to us for 15 minutes like we were all longtime friends. He had that impressive afro with his comb stuck in it and he was clutching a disco album. Man those were the days.

Other memories include: Lute personally running drills with the two twin towers at a corner basket. Basically they just beat on each other for 30 minutes with their post moves.
Kevin Boyle, who was one of the best defenders ever to wear an Iowa uni, couldn't stop Vince Brookins on the "you make it, you take it" drill. He became increasingly frustrated and animated after Vince stopped and popped about ten straight jump shots with that sweet jumper of his.
And finally just how modest Ronnie came across as he described to these high school students how we was going to try and stop Louisville's point guard Jerry Eaves.
Louisville caught a break when Ronnie went down reinjuring his knee. He was matching Darrell Griffith shot for shot. Oh what could have been.
