Interesting. From article:

-The most impressive receiver from my perspective today was Keenan Davis, though others said Jasper Collins impressed them most. Davis high pointed the ball very well today, adjusted his body well on deeper throws, and worked better-than-expected on outside routes. One of the best interior receivers I think this week because of his high pointing ability, willingness to work in traffic, and his body positioning in the mid-field, he’s started off the week on a good note.

Good find, HH. Tnx.

Have to wonder what his college numbers would have looked like with a QB who could spot him and deliver the ball in his direction, and a better OC.

Sounds like a good start. I really hope Davis can stick in the NFL. Iowa needs WR's in the NFL.

Key phrase- "one of the best interior receiver s" ie- a skill never used in his final year at Iowa. Greg Davis doesn't like the slant route and crossing patterns.

He fit very well into KOK's system and I think he would have had a much better year had we kept KOK. It's unfortunate that he got stuck in GD's system. I think we will see similar issues with guys like Hillyer. Hopefully Tevaun Smith and the guys in last year' recruiting class can adjust.

They are only giving him a look because of the great, huge, massive, amazing amount of respect they have for Kirk. All he does is produce NFL players.

I'm surprised that in less than 60 days Davis was able to overcome his 4 years of poor coaching by Soup and show the scouts his true, untapped potential.

Catching the ball at its highest point instead of waiting for it to come down.

it's really enjoyable to hear people say this...because it's so awful and wrong.

the idea that people are trying to convey is that the player caught the ball at the top of his jump and with his arms extended. However, this has somehow morphed into "high pointing." Watch a pass and see where the ball's highest point is. Sometime it may only be 6 feet, but on downfield throws where players jump to catch the ball it will often have been over 20 feet in the air at its "highest point." Therefore, no person in human history would have been able to "high point" the pass.

Woody could do it.

Most people say "high point" because it's faster to say than "catching the ball at the highest point in his jump." I don't think anyone who has used the term used it in a manner insinuating that the WR somehow managed to catch the ball at the highest point in his flight path. Then again...common sense isn't always so common.
