I don't know about anyone else but my interpretation on this statement puts me on the defensive.
Glad to see he thinks he is superman now with that N on his chest.

“It’s obviously helps when you walk into a high school and you have the ‘N’ on your chest. I’m looking forward to that. That will be the first time in my career when you’re walking into high schools with a name brand on your chest. I’m very excited about that.â€

Yeah, I had a good laugh about that. Like the 16-17 year olds whose high schools he's going to be walking into are going to see Nebraska as a "name brand."

LOL, the last time Nebbie played in a BCS game or a bowl game that mattered was before these kids even knew what a football was.

i get what you're trying to say, but make no mistake, Nebraska is a "brand name" in the world of college football

Sure, ask guys in their 30s and 40s and older, or watch Espn which is ran by the same age group, and you certainly think that. Those are the same people that think Tennessee and Florida St. are Big Deals.

But seriously, try and find kid not from Nebraska or raised by a fan....they just don't remember that world where Nebraska mattered.

I just think there is a difference in being relevant and being a "brand name" I think that Nebraska's titles are recent enough that the logo and name hold a certain amount of clout, as does Notre Dame, Florida State. if you are just talking dominance over the past 10 years or so, not many schools outside of the SEC and USC are really in the discussion

This is a classic example of Iowa fans looking for a reason to get offended.

His comments were directed at fans of his new team, they were never supposed to been seen by Iowa people, and the bottom line is that Nebraska is a much bigger name in college football than the Hawks are.

Deal with it, people.

Sounds like a woman scorned. I suspect that when Norm retired, he went to Ferentz asking for the job and was rebuffed and decided to take his ball and go home.

He's a Notre Shame guy...that says it all....how was he even affiliated with the Hawks in the first place...and why are you just looking for something to get your pants in a wad about? Who cares what his opinion is, good for him.

Jon- maybe move/delete this to General College football? Kaz is no longer an Iowa coach.

Why are you even posting about a topic you dont even care about, just looking for something to get your pants in a wad about?

Well, we will see. He seems to indicate that his poor showing as a recruiter at Iowa was due to the school's like of Notoriety. If that is the case, he should start pulling in big recruits right away.

For those that don't think Nebby is more of a brand name, tell me why you know the significance of a black shirt. Brands are about marketing and media presence. Iowa is one of the worst in this area, Nebby is one of the better ones.

However, and more importantly, when you read their bios, doesn't Woods' jump out at you more? Kacs played at ND and then got a lot of coaching opportunities, all on Oline, until Iowa, Woods played a bunch of years in the NFL, has served several communities in epic fashion, and has been recognized nationally for his efforts. Really seems to be a remarkable man. Have to think that while Kacs had to make his point by jumping around and screaming a bunch, Woods will be able to lead more from example.

Couldn't agree more. This is a big WHO THE HELL CARES!

I don't have an issues with the piece. Good for Coach K ... He wanted to make a move and he did so. Nebraska is definitely a brand name in football. Of course he wants to make feel-good comments about the new school ... It is unfortunate when a player or coach leaves that (some) fans all of a sudden turn on that individual. It's life. People makes changes that feel right for them. Not up to you or I to decide. And not up to us to tear them down because they have decided to pursue another opportunity ... In your personal life, if you choose to leave one job to pursue another do you think that warrants your former co-workers, etc., all of a sudden tearing you down because you moved on?

Not sure what you're talking about. Nobody from Iowa took any shots at him. He was the one basically putting his former employer down.

And plenty people took shots at him.
Who cares if he wasn't good or driving kids away I say shake his hand tell hey it been fun ,next man in. Why do so many people have to feel dissed at every little thing?
