Bring back the MLB blitz! I like this kid. Showed the ability to sift through traffic and not get caught in it. Looks like he is able to read quickly and react. Good straight line speed on the middle blitz. Coverage skills looked good. Got chopped once, but recovered. Put 35-40 lbs on this kid and you looking at another Hodge or Angerer.

this staff has proven time and again that it can spot talent that will fit into it's system with guys just like this. it's not like this is a 'fallback' recruit - it is a recruit that they identified early and have been in with - they obviously like what they see.
the biggest thing for iowa is to find talent that they can develop over 4/5 years w/attrition. that is how teams like iowa can have success. iowa will never be a reload team ala ohio state, etc.

it's still way early in the process. hilliard's news good or bad wouldn't cause Ferentz to offer this kid as a 'fall back' (due to hilliard going elsewhere). it's june for goodness sake. still plenty of fish in the sea. Now, if it were january 23rd you'd probably be onto something.

I didn't necessarily mean he was a "fall back" in mid June. However, it only seems natural that if a coach gets a denial from their top LB prospect they would move their attention to another LB.
