Why do so many seem obsessed with the new coach bringing an uptempo offense? Yeah, Lickliter's offense seemed boring to many, but I argue that had the Hawks won, we wouldn't be complaining about the style. Just look around the Big Ten - probably most notably to Madison. Bo Ryan's teams aren't exactly making SportsCenter every night, but the results don't lie. Barta should just hire a winner - who cares about the style.

It's money. And butts in the seats create more money. Winning will sell more tickets than anything. But, bringing fast paced, fun to watch basketball to CHA will start to fill the seats even if the wins don't show up right away. A lot of people feel this is why we should hire a coach with an up tempo style of play. Also, if you read Jon's articles, he feels that the fan base expects to have this style of play. And I agree.

I would have always complained about Lick's boring system. Regardless of wins. It wouldn't have kept me from going to the games. But it's not the kind of basketball I want to see. I want to see the kind of Iowa basketball I grew up watching.

As Miller has said, up tempo basketball is a birth right to many Iowans. Let Wisconsin have their system. They don't know any better. I want wins with up tempo, exciting basketball.
