Now that I've had a week to process that loss I figured I would watch the game since it was on.
I'm not going to get technical, but here are my thoughts after watching again:
-If you threw out the "rankings" it would look like two pretty evenly matched teams on the field that day.
-Persa just played an amazing game. Its hard to find too much fault with the defensive play. There were some frustrating completions to be sure, but every time it looked like Persa was about to be sacked and he would shuffle around and deliver a perfect strike to his receiver. To do this as many times as he did was quite exceptional.
-Stanzi's interception really was the game killer. Run some more time off on that drive and even with a field goal its a totally different game.
-Our two minute drill was not nearly as bad as people were making it out to be. There were 3-4 critical drops by receivers, but Stanzi was putting passes where they needed to be. Even on the last bomb into the end zone, we had a receiver within arm's reach, that had the ball deflected ever so slightly in another direction, people would remember it as the new amazing ending to replace 7 got 6.
-Not all that much to complain about from a coaching standpoint. Persa won that game for them.
